The appalling events of the 5th and 6th May 2013 in Dhaka Bangladesh, are known as the Shapla Chottor or Motijheel Massacre. They are difficult to learn about from official sources at present because it is in few interests to shed humane light on this state crime. Primarily this is because the perpetrators are a sitting government with substantial support base in media, law enforcement and civil society, inside and outside Bangladesh. Individuals and organisations investigating face real risks to themselves, their families and institutions, while the victims themselves have very little voice.

This site is a learning resource for people of justice to gain an understanding of what happened in the early hours of 6th May in Dhaka, why it came about, how it was kept quiet and what its implications are to the future.
